God designed you for a purpose, and that purpose is for good. Sometimes that purpose may be hard to see, and we may even drift from it from time to time. But God remains focused on our good. He is more concerned about our holiness than our comfort.
If we think it will all be easy, we are likely to stumble when difficulties come. Obedience and faithfulness are not the easy way, but they are the most rewarding.
