Daily Bible Readings — Salt for Wisdom, Light for Peace and Justice

Monday — Wisdom from Above   James 3:13–18
God’s wisdom looks different from the world’s wisdom. It produces gentleness, mercy, peace, and good fruit.
Reflect: Which quality of God’s wisdom does my life most need right now?

Tuesday — Blessed Are the Peacemakers   Matthew 5:1–12
Jesus calls peacemakers blessed. Biblical peace is more than avoiding conflict—it means participating in God’s work of healing and reconciliation.
Reflect: Where could I plant a seed of peace today?

Wednesday — Do Justice, Love Mercy, Walk Humbly   Micah 6:6–8
God calls us to lives where justice, mercy, and humility belong together.
Reflect: How can I practice mercy or help make something right today?

Thursday — Draw Near to God   James 4:1–10
James reminds us that conflict often begins within our own hearts. Transformation begins as we humble ourselves and draw near to God.
Reflect: What pride, anger, jealousy, or need to be right do I need to surrender to God?

Friday — Overcome Evil with Good   Romans 12:9–21
Paul describes a distinctly Christian way of living: genuine love, generosity, humility, hospitality, peace, and refusing revenge.
Reflect: Where can I respond differently because I follow Jesus?

Saturday — The Power of Prayer   James 5:13–18
James closes by reminding us that prayer is powerful. Prayer changes circumstances, but it also prepares us to enter the world differently.
Reflect: Who or what needs my faithful prayer today?

Prayer for the Week

God, fill me with wisdom from above. Make me gentle when anger comes easily, humble when I want to be right, merciful when I am tempted to judge, and courageous when justice requires action. Help me plant peace wherever I go and shine the light of Christ in a hurting world. Amen.
