Bible Readings and Reflection Questions for the Week of October 25

Monday – Dressed for the Mess |  Colossians 3:12–15

Paul reminds us that followers of Jesus are to clothe themselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. These aren't simply good qualities to admire; they are attitudes we are called to practice every day.

Reflect: Which of these qualities comes most naturally to you? Which one do you most need God's help putting on this week?

Tuesday – Welcome One Another | Romans 14:1–6

Not every disagreement needs to become a division. Paul challenges believers to welcome one another even when they have different opinions and convictions about matters that are not essential to the faith.

Reflect: Is there someone you have been judging because they think, worship, or live differently than you? How might you extend grace instead of judgment?

Wednesday – Learning to Bear with One Another | Ephesians 4:1–6

Christian community requires humility, gentleness, patience, and a willingness to bear with one another in love. Unity doesn't mean everyone is alike; it means we are committed to loving one another despite our differences.

Reflect: Who is testing your patience right now? What would it look like to respond to that person with the patience and grace Christ has shown you?

Thursday – Forgiven People Forgive | Matthew 18:21–35

Jesus tells a parable reminding us that those who have received extraordinary forgiveness should be willing to extend forgiveness to others. Forgiveness isn't always easy, but it is essential to healthy relationships and Christian community.

Reflect: Are you holding on to a hurt or resentment that is affecting your relationship with someone? What is one step you could take toward forgiveness or healing?

Friday – Pursue What Builds Others Up | Romans 14:13–19

Paul reminds us that being right isn't always the most important thing. Our words, attitudes, and actions should contribute to peace and help others grow in faith rather than becoming obstacles to their relationship with Christ.

Reflect: Do your words and actions generally build people up or tear them down? Is there a relationship where you need to prioritize love and peace over winning an argument?

Saturday – Above All, Put On Love |  1 Corinthians 13:1–7

Love is more than a feeling; it is a daily choice reflected in our patience, kindness, humility, and willingness to put others first. Without love, even our most impressive spiritual activities lose their meaning.

Reflect: If someone observed how you treated others this past week, what would they learn about the love of Jesus? What is one intentional act of love you can offer someone today?

A Thought for the Week:  We don't have to agree on everything to love one another. We simply have to agree that loving one another is essential.
