Favorite Movie: I can’t choose just one—or even just a few. There are so many good ones. My criteria for a good movie are good character development and a good plot. If the movie makes you think about big life questions or makes you laugh, that’s a bonus. I am most likely to re-watch kids’ animated classic movies.
Dream Vacation: I would love to visit Europe and see all the old and famous places, including a few castles. Just like movies though, I can’t choose just one. There are many other places I would like to visit too, including Australia and a number of U.S. national parks.
Last meal on Earth: Mexican or Italian or seafood. Or all three.
What superpower would you choose, why? I always thought it would be cool to be invisible to be able to observe people in everyday life. My less selfish self would bring peace and understanding to every interaction with others.
Favorite thing about your job: It’s gratifying when I am teaching a concept in Sunday school and the kids seem to really “get” it and also when they ask to do an activity again because they like it. Seeing the kids grow and change over time is especially special.
More about Valerie…. My husband Gary and I will have been married 36 years this June (2021). We have two great adult children, Chelsea and Lee, and a great son-in-law, Kenton, and a really wonderful granddaughter, Ava, who just turned 3. I have gotten to take care of her while her parents are at work since she was a baby, which has been very special. I enjoy the outdoors, taking walks, reading, and playing word games and other mentally challenging games. God has blessed me in more ways than I can count, and He is always there for me, whatever life brings.
